Description: Learn more about unique ways to grow fall and winter pasture! Be sure to attend the Arkansas Forage and Grassland Council’s Fall Forage Conference and Forage Tour. Speakers in the morning will discuss winter grazing management, then an afternoon tour of the UA Fayetteville farm will show studies on fall and winter forage options as well as silvopasture work. Arkansas’s 2nd Biennial Forum on Forestry and Drinking Water Forest and Water Works
Connecting Working Forests and Clean Drinking Water
November 7 and 8, 2017-DeGray Resort State ParkArkansas’ 2nd Biennial Forum on Forestry and Drinking Water provides opportunity to learn how forestry and drinking water can work together to protect drinking water sources and help improve management of forests in Arkansas. Nov. 7 and 8, decision makers from both sectors will gather at DeGray Resort State Park to discuss issues relevant to both sectors and determine ways that the two sectors can collaborate to their mutual benefit. Topics of discussion will include: The Sustainable Forestry Initiative; Harmful Algae Blooms; Nutrients and Forestry; the Impact of Sediment on Water Treatment; Unpaved Roads; the Value of Collaboration plus a history of forestry in Arkansas by Dr. Don Bragg.
